Three Lakes is a census-designated place in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 16,540 at the 2020 census, up from 15,047 in 2010. Its name comes from the planned community of Three Lakes, which is located inside Three Lakes CDP boundaries. The name Three Lakes is derived from the three lakes, Lake Biscayne, Lake Merritt and Biscayne Bay, located inside the Three Lakes CDP. Lake Biscayne is the largest lake in Miami. It has a surface area of 4,200 acres and a shoreline of 2.5 miles. Lake Merritt is the second-largest lake.

The park is open 24/7 and has several water activities, such as canoeing, kayaking, and boating. It also has a fishing dock and a pier. You can go there during the day and at night. The city has one of the highest population densities in the county.


Three lakes make up this CDP. Lake W. Flagler is a lake that borders North Miami Beach. Lake M. Barfield has a small lake in its middle and a mangrove bay along the west side. Finally, Lake M. Dade is the largest and the widest of the three lakes.


The government developed the three lakes to keep out alligators. The government also built a dam on the lake to prevent gators from entering the main waterway. The main road that goes around the lake is called Old Cutler Road. Most people think of this as the main entrance to the neighborhood. But, the real entrance is through the gate at the end of the road.
